Agni Prime Ballistic Missile: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Thursday (June 8) successfully completed the test of the advanced version (version) of the ballistic Agni missile. Now this missile has become equipped with more features than its old version.
The missile, launched from Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha between Wednesday-Thursday night, has a range of 1,000 to 2,000 kilometers and is also capable of carrying nuclear weapons with it.

DRDO officials told that they have completed the first pre-induction (before induction into the armed forces) of the missile’s firepower. The Defense Ministry said, this test has come true on all those parameters so that we can deploy it at any strategic location, because this missile has now become war ready.
What did the Ministry of Defense say on the success of Agni missile?
The Defense Ministry said, ‘The new generation ballistic missile Agni Prime was successfully test-fired by DRDO on June 7 from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island located off the coast of Odisha. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that he congratulates the DRDO and the armed forces on this success and on the spectacular performance of the new generation ballistic missile.
The Ministry of Defense had installed devices like radar, telemetry, electro-optical tracking system at various places in its testing range for accurate testing and success of this missile. DRDO Chairman Sameer V Kamat congratulated the entire crew involved in its testing and appreciated its efforts.
Why is Agni 5 important?
Many countries including China and Europe will come under the ambit of the Defense Ministry’s Agni 5 missile. Now the whole of Asia has come under the attack of India’s missile. Missiles from Agni-1 to Agni-4, whose range ranges from 700 km to 3,500 km, have already been deployed in many strategic bases of the country.
