Brian Ferguson told the Detroit Free Press in a statement, “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Detroit under police watch. After considering the best interests of the board and my family, I am resigning as District Police Commissioner immediately.” I’m leaving.” He also said, “I don’t want this personal matter to be a distraction from the important work that this board does.”
