News Anchor Gitanjali Aiyar Death: Famous news anchor Gitanjali Iyer passed away on Wednesday (June 7). She was 76 years old. He worked in Doordarshan for more than 30 years. Due to the death of Iyer, there has been a wave of mourning among the fans.
Paying tribute to Iyer on social media, many people are expressing condolences to his family. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has also expressed condolences on the demise of Gitanjali Iyer.

Gitanjali Iyer’s Profile
Gitanjali Iyer did her graduation from Loreto College, Kolkata. He also did a diploma from the National School of Drama. She was one of the country’s first English news anchors. Iyer joined Doordarshan in 1971 and received the Best Anchor award four times during her career with the channel. In 1989, she also received the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award given in honor of outstanding women.
After a long career in the news industry, he ventured into corporate communications, government relations and marketing. She was the head of major donors to the ‘World Wide Fund’ in India. He also acted in Sridhar Kshirsagar’s TV serial ‘Khandaan’.
